Finishing touches included etched glass cabinet doors, tumbled stone backsplash, and stainless appliances.

Fair Oaks Remodel

The need for natural light in the kitchen was the main motivation for this project. The scope was slightly scaled back to meet the budget. A full kitchen gut/remodel as well as a 170 sq ft. Office addition.
We removed the wall between the kitchen and living room to open up a huge space which is perfect for social gatherings.
The 8' ceiling was removed and a shed dormer added with windows above to bring in more light. We also increased the size of the existing kitchen window. This kitchen was finished off with new custom beechwood cabinets with granite counter tops and a tumbled stone backsplash.
A garden alcove at the front of the house made for a perfect opportunity for a 170 sq. ft. office addition. 3 of the 4 walls were already in place as well as the roof structure over the area. Added square footage with minimal expense.

The Finished kitchen. Combined lighting sources include the undercabinet lights, LED track lights above sink, recessed cans around the perimeter, and island pendants.
The double oven wall on the left, (shown in before photos below), was removed to open up the living room to the new kitchen.
A generous sized walk-in pantry was added with a glass pantry door.
This raised tower island plug by Mockett, shown up here, enabled us to meet code requirements for outlets needed on the island.
The recessed island plug, shown down here.
The finished office interior. That's Amber enjoying the new carpet.

This planter area was a very inexpensive opportunity for the 170 sq. ft. office addtion.
Here's a look at the dormer from the outside.
We added a shed dormer above and raised the rest of the kitchen ceiling to 9'
A 170 sq. ft. office was added at the front of the residence where a covered garden was before. Stay tuned for pictures of the completed project.
The new dormer was just the right touch for allowing natural light into the kitchen
